Have you ever gone to buy a gift for a construction worker in your life and realized that everything they really want tends to run on diesel and be over $300?
We know the feeling.
We created this list to provide some fun options that are affordable and that are things the construction worker on your list will find useful.
The Best Gifts for Construction Workers on Amazon 2022
Last year, we published a blog article on the best gifts for construction workers that you can get on Amazon. It generated a lot of traffic and seemed to be useful for our audience so this year, we are out with a new and improved list, along with this video to help take some of the guesswork out of shopping.
And in case you’re wondering – we do have items on this list for both men and women.
Before we get started, I wanted to let you know a few things:
- This list is not sponsored.
- Everything on the list is under $300 and includes a wide range of prices. The video has approximate prices of each item, but just remember, it is Amazon so they may fluctuate.
- Some of these items are really popular so if you’re shopping for Christmas or the holiday season, you may want to order sooner rather than later to make sure they don’t get sold out.
Okay here we go from the least expensive to most expensive...
The Best Gifts for Construction Workers 2022
Universal Socket Set
This first item is so handy for the handyman or woman in your life. A universal socket is great to keep in the truck or the toolbox just in case you need it because when you need them, they can save the day.
It can be used with a wrench or a drill and instantly fits most metric bots, wing nuts, broken nuts, stripped nuts, and irregular shapes. It’s good as a stocking stuffer or a gift from the kids too.
Flashlight Gloves
This item we have is something that has been needed in the world for a long time but that you may not have heard about - flashlight gloves. These are awesome for any task that is made easier with a little lighting – think mechanical work, fishing, repair, and even crafts and hobbies.
As a safety company, our one caution is that fingerless gloves aren’t great if you’re working with sharp or abrasive objects – but for a job where you need a little extra lighting, these are awesome.
Pen Multitool
This is the type of pen Batman probably carries or something you’d see on a spy movie – it’s also inexpensive enough to be a good stocking stuffer.
It’s a pen, but it’s also got an LED light, touchscreen stylus, Ruler, Level, Bottle opener, Phillips screwdriver, and a flathead screwdriver. What more could a pen possibly do?
Solar Charger
This item is perfect for anyone who works outdoors and who is always dealing with their phone dying. It’s a solar charging power bank that works with smart phones and tablets.
Although I personally don’t use these for work, I find them good for camping or fishing as well and if you have a hunter in the family, they’ll probably find some good uses for them too.
First Aid Kit
As a safety channel, we love a good first aid kit. I chose this one because it’s small enough to fit in a glove box or a backpack and has the basics that you need.
It’s not a jobsite first aid kit but more of a personal first aid kit that’s good for work or recreation because it’s small and lightweight. It's really well-thought out, and also has a mini-first aid kit that you can take out and keep with you when you aren’t going to carry the full one.
Contour Gauge
If you’ve ever needed to measure and cut something that was weirdly shaped, you know that a contour gauge can make us amateurs look like pros.
You use a contour gauge to mark how to cut things like trim and flooring to match weird surfaces – they’re amazing. Everyone needs one.
Universal Engine Fault Scanner
You know how annoying it is when your check engine light goes on and you don’t know what the problem may be? It could be the gas cap was left open or it could be something serious and you just don’t know?
It used to be that you had to take the vehicle to a mechanic to read what the check engine light meant but those days are long over, you just need a code reader. This one is inexpensive, easy to use, and has great reviews.
Heated Lunchbox
This gift is great for kids to give their dad. It’s a lunchbox that plugs into your vehicle and heats your lunch.
It’s great if you work outside all day, especially during the winter months.
Carhartt Tote
This one is exciting for those girls like me who work in industrial environments. Carhartt has come out with a new line of bags and backpacks and this one is great because you can fit your work essentials and your lunch in here. It’s durable enough that you won’t need to worry about it damaging and it’s machine washable. It also has a laptop sleeve.
Carhartt Leggings
This next gift is also for women and that is a pair of Carhartt leggings, which are the unicorn of the women's workwear world.
I'm not even kidding, these are one of my favorite things to have come along in a while.
They have pockets, they're sturdy, stretchy fabric so they'll hold up and best of all - they feel like leggings but don't look like leggings.
Borescope
You may not think of a borescope as something you’d buy as a gift but these are a huge timesaver on repairs at work or around the house because they give you the ability to inspect something, without taking it apart.
This one is waterproof so it can check out clogged drains, it can be used in walls, engines, and appliances. Trust me, if you know someone who’s handy around the house and doesn’t have one, they will be excited to get this.
Makita Coffee Maker
Now, I will say, this is a good gift if you know someone who loves Makita because they will have the batteries that are needed to go with it. Most people in construction tend to be more loyal to one brand or another and you generally want most tools to be the same so all batteries and chargers are compatible.
This coffee maker is cool because it doesn’t need a paper filter, is low maintenance and it’s rugged enough for the jobsite.
The only drawback is, it doesn’t come with it’s own battery. If you need some, here is the link.
Coleman Portable Cooler
I love this cooler. It plugs into your car and is small enough to fit in the back seat of the truck.
It’s great for anyone who works out of a vehicle rather than office and is also nice for road trips, camping, or just day-to-day use.
Luncheaz Lunchbox
Okay, earlier we talked about heated lunchboxes, and this one is the Cadillac of lunchboxes.
One of the readers of the previous gift list pointed this out to us just a day or so ago. Unfortunately, we didn’t hear about this one in time to order one for the video, but we wanted to include it because it’s really cool.
This lunchbox has a rechargeable battery, is automatic so your lunch is ready on time, has removable containers for easy cleaning and comes with an insulated bag to keep it all together.
Coolbox
This one is a play on the word toolbox - it's a little like a toolbox and a lot like a cooler. You may have seen it on SharkTank.
It’s like a multi-use cooler, but a lot more. It has two ports to charge your phone, it plays music, It has a cooler to keep your food cold – they even claim it can keep things cool for 5 days or more, it also has a water-resistant storage compartment, a bottle opener, and an LED clock display. It rolls like a suitcase so you don’t have to carry it.
It’s amazing.
DeWalt Heated Jacket
For those of us who live in cold climates, start work early in the morning, or are like me and tend to run a little cold, heated jackets are an amazing gift.
These are great for work, football games, hunting, fishing, and just winter in general.
Now, this one is from DeWalt, it works with DeWalt batteries so you want to make sure you match the coat to whatever brand the person you’re buying for prefers so we’ll link others below too.
This one comes with a battery and charger, it has three temperature settings and three heating zones.
One thing I will say is these sell out fast when the cold weather hits so make sure to order them early.

DeWalt Portable Radio with Bluetooth
This item is one that almost any construction worker loves to have and that’s the DeWalt stereo.
It can be powered by DeWalt batteries or a power cord and the Bluetooth reaches 100 feet and it has space for an auxiliary cord. It also has two USB charging ports. It delivers a lot of sound and is durable enough for the job site.
